Newly renovated, junior 1 bedroom English basement apartment, with 4 full-size windows, offers plenty of natural light. Sleeps 3 adults with a queen bed and twin sofa bed. You'll have a comfortable night's sleep with 500 thread count sheets and tempurpedic pillows. The queen mattress is from Savvy Rest and is made of organic natural latex foam. The full bathroom has a bathtub and shower. There is a washer and dryer in the unit. The full-size kitchen appliances include a refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and iron. The kitchen has granite countertops and is fully furnished with plates, glasses, cookware, utensils, etc.The apartment has all the conveniences of home. For travelers with small children, a highchair and Pack n' Play are available upon request.
The apartment is located just north of downtown, near 2 yellow/green line metro stops—just 3 blocks from Howard University/Shaw metro stop and 3 blocks from the Mt Vernon/Convention Center metro stop. Reagan National Airport is also located on the yellow line, so the commute from the airport is very easy. Washington DC is a very walkable city with good public transportation. You won't need a car while you are here. If you are traveling with a car, there is plenty of street parking available. Street parking is locally zoned, but we will arrange for you to have a parking pass for a $25 fee.
We are walking distance to vibrant nightlife, like the U street corridor, Logan Circle and Chinatown/Gallery Place. Only 3 metro stops to the National Mall and all of the historic monuments. Lots of restaurants within walking distances.
For extended stays, we will have the apartment cleaned weekly for an additional $50. Nightly rate does not include the Washington DC lodging tax of 14.5%.
We live upstairs and are happy to answer any questions or make recommendations. The apartment has a separate alley entrance, and you will have complete privacy.
